can anyone tell me the simplest method to factorise x^2 - 6x + 8
by splitting the middle the middle term​

x² - (4 + 2)x + 8

x² - 4x - 2x + 8

x(x - 4) - 2(x - 4)

(x - 2)(x - 4)

Hence x = 2 ;4
