Ammonia solution, also known as ammonia water, ammonical liquor, ammonia liquor, aqua ammonia, aqueous ammonia, or (inaccurately) ammonia, is a solution of ammonia in water. It can be denoted by the symbols NH3(aq). It is sometimes thought of as a solution of ammonium hydroxide. 
I. Ammonia being a polar molecule same as water dissolves readily in Water.ammonia nh3 is soluble in water. It forms ammonium hydroxide(NH4OH)when it reacts with water.
II. when ammonia dissolve in water it becomes ammonium hydroxide. this is known as alkaline ammonia.
