The Adam apple, in conjunction with the thyroid cartilage which forms it, helps protect the walls and the frontal part of the larynx, including the vocal cords (which are located directly behind it). Another function of the Adam Apple is related to the deepening of the voice.

this is the story of that era when earth was newly for
formed
there was a man named adam
god said him that he can taste every fruit but not that single one
so one day his beloved forced him to eat that fruit
and when he ate it it strucked in his throat
and that strucked fruit is called Adam apple
