It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves

If stars held any sway over our destinies, then all of us would have the same wins, and success; for stars overhead shine in the same manner for all of us

There are as many theories and philosophies on uncountable phenomena as are stars in the sky. These theories and philosophies have so many varied schools of thought that one gets so perplexed listening to them their different views on the one same phenomenon¬- similarly different people may have different people may have different views regarding stars relationship with destiny. Man himself in the maker or waster of his destiny; stars just shine in the night sky to inspire and motivate us to chisel our destiny into whatever shape we desire through industry and diligence. Tryon Edwards has aptly said these words on the subject:’ Thought lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny.’

Rhonda Byron’s best seller book, the secret, in which she has compiled various teachings of renowned life-coaches such as Bob Proctor, Ester Hicks, John Assaraf, Jack Canfield, etc, who tell us that we can have, do or be anything irrespective of our family, education, financial status, class, colour, creed, religion, nationality, etc. The secret to achieve any type of destiny or success lies in our positive, strong, optimistic thoughts.

There is another example of a great Indian personage, who has made his presence felt throughout the world , he is a perfect example of the man’s power over his own destiny. Born to a poor family , Abdul Kalam started working at an early age to supplement his family’s income. He distributed newspapers; and burnt midnight oil for his studies. He kept working hard all his life. By the sheer dint of his focus and hard work, he rose to the status of Indian President. Not only every Indian, the entire world reveres him for his ability to shape his destiny. His life stands as a temple of inspiration for everyone to learn and endeavour to mould destiny into whatever shape, we desire. Even the stars must be all praise for much a man has he was!  

In the book ‘The Mastery of Destiny by James Allen, he gives us ten-step process to master destiny. These steps, viz. upright character, self-control, conduct, trained will, thoroughness, mind-building, concentration, meditation, purpose and accomplishment. Through sincere practice and application of these steps, man can master his destiny.
