Each material has its own process of decomposition and time varies according to the composition of the material.
According to many research it is found that natural materials that are made by the nature get decomposed at a faster pace than the unnaturally created materials by man.
For example plastic bottles that we use in our daily life -take almost 500 years and more to get decomposed.
