Polythene bags are one kind of plastics which are non-biodegradable and cause environmental pollution. They undergo a process known as photo degradation, in which they break down into smaller and smaller toxic particles.

They are bad for wildlife. Plastic bags can choke or poison fish, animals and birds, with marine wildlife particularly vulnerable

Answer:

Polythene bags affect animals in many ways.

One of this is that these polyethene bags clog the drain which cause drainage problems etc

The other reason is that they are dumped in the garbage bins carelessly and are eaten by the cattle which cause serious lung problems. it can also block the respiratory system as well as the digestive system.
