a. The medium source

→ Arrange in ascending or descending order!

Ascending order – 2 3 3 4 5 8

• If numbers are odd —

Median =

$(n + 1)^{th \: term} \div 2$

• Ascending order – 2 3 3 4 5 8

(Total number) n = 6

Median =

$(n + 1) ^{th \: term} \div 2 \\( 6 + 1) ^{th \: term} \div 2 \\ 7 \div 2 \\ = 3.5$

The median = 3.5 th term

Medium is 3.5

b. The mode

→ The observation with the maximum frequency is called mode

Here Maximum frequency is 3

Which is of 0 and 3 (score)

= 0 and 3 is the mode

Mode = 0 and 3

c. The mean

Mean = Sum of all observation / no. of observation

Mean = 3 + 8 + 4 + 3 + 5 + 2 / 5

Mean = 25 / 5

Mean = 5

Note :- If a frequency distribution graph has a symmetrical frequency curve, then mean, median and mode will be equal. In case of a positively skewed frequency distribution, the mean is always greater than median and the median is always greater than the mode.
