But those who opt for Mathematics-Basic cannot take Mathematics as a subject in +2 (refer to the next paragraph). Those who wish to take Maths will have to opt for the Mathematics-Standard examination.

However, students who opted for Mathematics-Basic have the option take Maths if they appear for the Compartmental/ Improvement of Performance examination under Mathematics-Standard.
