Alkenes have double bonds, notalkanes. And moreover there isno possibly way for methane to have double bonds as the most stable form of it is CH4. A double bond between carbon and hydrogen probably would nothappen.

formula of methane is - CH4.
valency of carbon is 4 and hydrogen is 1.
So carbon reacts with four atom of hydrogen and it share 1 electron with all four hydrogen atom. thus there have been only one electon sharing so it cannot form double bond .
i hope it clears u
