Can mirror formula be applied in case of a plane mirror ? Please give explanation too...

yes mirror formula can also be applied to plane mirrors because in mirror formula if object distance image distance are known the focal length of that will be Infinity we can find out the required quantity

yes , it can be applied

in case of plane mirror ,, u=v ,, using mirror formula

therefore 1/f= 1/v+1u

1/f= u+v/v*u

1/f=2u/u*u

1/f.=2/u

f=u/2 or v/2
