Can plants manufacture there own food throughout the day?

yes, they can.

bcoz they have some pigments called chlorophyll in their leaves. these chlorophyll absorbs sunlight. plants make their own food with the help of this sunlight , the water which give them (we water the plants) and the nutrients present in the soil.
