Plaster of paris is also used for whitewashing. it is used to apply a white coat on walls.

Plaster of paris also known as pop is a quick setting mixture of gypsum and plaster. The main chemical in this compound is sulphate hemihydrate. It is first moistened with help of water and then it is allowed to be dried. Plaster of Paris does not crack. And hence it is used for casting and moulding purposes.

It is used to heal broken bones and also used in orthodontics to make teeth moulds. Ganpati idols are also made with the help of pop.
