Reflection can not take place in the absence of light as reflection itself means bouncing back of light. And to see anything,light has to be reflected on the retina. therefore even if reflection could take place(even though it does not),we would not be able to see it.

No. Any object needs to emit light in order for it to be reflected. Reflection is basically the bouncing of light rays off a smooth/reflective surface, so if there isn't any light, the object won't be illuminated and reflection will not take place.
