Heart is a hollow and muscular organ that pumps blood throughout our body. It is located in the middle of the chest. It has four chambers namely left and right atria and right and left ventricles. The approximate heart beat is 72 times per minute. With the average heart beat the heart pumps 10 litres of blood per minute. A double walled sac called pericardium encases the heart and serves to protect it. The outer wall of the heart consists of three layers namely epicardium, pericardium and myocardium. The heart circulates the blood in two pathways called pulmonary circuit and systemic circuit. Unlike the other organs the heart also contracts and relaxes. Hope this helps!! heart is the organ which is a part of the circulatory system.it is located in the thoracic cavity slightly towards the left.it is the size of your fist.it pumps blood to other parts of the body.it has four chambers right and left auricles and right and left ventricles.
two upper chambers are called auricles , they receive blood and lower chambers are called ventricles, pump out blood
blood flows from auricles to ventricles through valves
