1) If the ink contains three different coloured components then the colours will get separated when the filter paper absorb water

2)The technique used in this is known as chromatography .
Chromatography is also used for testing water samples and also checks air quality.

this technique is chromatography. the child can use AlCl3 and fill it in a tube ,then fill with ink.the ink will separate with different color on different layers.
