Q. 1) Define work. Give its unit.

→ Work is defined as when object gain some enrgy by unbalanced force and displace to the Direction of force. It is denoted by "w". It S.I unit is Joule.

Work Done is Depend on :-

The magnitude Unbalanced force acting on the object &

The magnitude of the displacement Covered by object in the direction of force

----------------------------------------------

Q. 2 ) What is energy ? Give the unit of energy.

→ The energy is defined as ability or Capacity to do work. It Can be in any form - Kinetic, Potential , Sound etc. It SI unit is same as that of Work i.e, Joule.

---------------------------------------------

Q. 3 ) Explain Law of Conservation of energy.

→ Law of Conservation of energy states that Energy can neither be creates or nor be destroyed. Energy can only be changed from one form to another. In the simple definition Total energy of Closed body is Constant.

--------------------------------------------

Q. 4 ) Derive the Formulae of Potential energy.

→ Potential energy is defined as the energy Possessed by body by it's virtue of Position.

Suppose a body of mass m is taken to height h from the surface of earth so the work done is against the force of gravity,

→ w = F × h

  • where, F = force of gravity, h = Displacement covered

→ But, F = mg

→ Therefore, w = mgh

Hence, The formulae of Potential Energy is W = mgh.
