Destruction of sun can occur due to two probable phenomenon and these are:
The red giant phase in which increase in the output of energy will heat up the outer layers of the sun leading to expansion. When this expansion reaches its optimum then the physical body of the sun would be destroyed
Another phenomenon is burning out in which several envelope of layers would be damaged and the sun will start to shrink with time.
