The velocity vector is constant in magnitude but changing in direction. Because the speed is constant for such a motion, many students have the misconception that there is no acceleration. ... For this reason, it can be safely concluded that an object moving in a circle at constant speed is indeed accelerating.

Now, coming back to uniform and variable velocity, a body is said to be moving with the uniform velocity when it has no acceleration, which means that neither the speed nor the direction of the object are changing with respect to time while the body is said to be moving with the non-uniform velocity if either its speed ...

A body can have a constant speed but a changing velocity because the direction can change while the speed is constant. ... However, a body can not have a constant velocity with a changing speed. ... A car can not be slowing down yet still be going the same speed and direction.

A particle moving with uniform speed may or may not have uniform velocity. This is because even if the direction of motion of the body changes, its velocity will get changed. Therefore as long as a body is moving in a constant direction as well as speed its velocity will remain constant.
