MAMLUK/SLAVE DYNASTY:

• The Mamluk dynasty or slave dynasty was established by Qutbuddin Aibak.

• Qutbuddin Aibak was the slave of Mohammad of Ghor.

• After defeating Prithviraj Chauhan, Mohd.Ghor appointed Qutbuddin Aibak as the governor of India.

• Mohammad of Ghor was murdered in 1206 while he was returning to Turkey.

• After the death of Ghori, Aibak became the ruler of Hindustan.

• From here, the era Delhi Sultanate has started.

• Qutbuddin Aibak was favourite slave of Muhammad of Ghor.

• Slave dynasty was also known as Ilbari Turk dynasty.

• The rulers of Slave dynasty were Iltutmish, Razia Sultana, Balban etc.

• Ghiyasuddin Balban was the most important and famous ruler of slave dynasty.

Iltutmish is considered as the real founder of Delhi Sultanate.

• Razia Sultana, daughter of Iltutmish was the first and last muslim woman ruler of India.
