‘Amma what is your duty’ is a story written by Sudha Murthy. The story is an illustration of the saying ‘Child is the father of man’. When Sudha Murthy decided to serve the blind, she went to teach blind children.

She came across a blind boy who had high ambitions. He was very talented and he wanted to proceed his further education in a well-reputed school. But he couldn’t do that as he could not afford the money. But Sudha Murthy’s daughter Akshata lends him her saved money.

Sudha Murthy gets so impressed and decides to provide financial aid to such students.

Akshata is such a compassionate and generous girl. She gives to the poor all that she has. She had all the goodness a human can have. She knows the value of education and talent. Her thought process is so matured.
