Given Equation is a^2 - 1 - 2b - b^2

= > a^2 + ab - ab + a - b^2 - b - a - b - 1

= > a^2 + ab + a - ab - b^2 - b - a - b - 1

= > a(a + b + 1) - b(a + b + 1) - 1(a + b + 1).

= > (a - b - 1)(a + b + 1).

Hope it helps!
