<b><I><u>No it can't be stored in water because it is a highly reactive metal which reacts vigorously on coming in contact with air or water.Therefore sodium metal is usually stored in kerosene.It reacts with water to form sodiumhydrooxide and releases hydrogen gas .

No sodium should never be stored in water because sodium is highly reactive and can react with water so to produce large amount of heat.
