The theory of joining the p type semiconductor and n semiconductor is not valid.

  • The important thing is the depletion layer between the p-n junction.
  • This layer cannot be made when we attach the both as same.
  • The actual diagram is not same as given in books of p-n junction.
  • The properties of temperature and others will effect the junction if they join separately .
  • There is proper doping on the semiconductor to form the semiconductor.
  • That's why it is not possible.
