Can we use any metallic wire as a fuse wire? give reasons.

Fuse wire is a wire that is used to protect the equipments connected to it. ... Copper wire will close the circuit but in case of surge, it will not melt and might cause damage to the unprotected devices. So it isn't adviced to use metallic wires with high melting point.

No, we cannot use metallic wire as a fuse wire because metallic wire have generally high melting point but fuse wire have low melting point.If the fuse is made of metallic wire then it will not melt easily when a high electric current passes through it and may damage the electrical appliances.
