As given the acceleration of the 10 kg mass is 12 m/s2so the spring force that would have been acting on the mass = F = ma or , F= 10×12 = 120 N in the right directionwhile same amount of spring force will act on the 20 kg mass in the left direction so the net force on the 20 kg mass in the right direction = 200−120 = 80Nhence the acceleration of 20 kg mass = 80/20 = 4 m/s2
