First of all , there were five people inside the room.

You were the sixth person to enter it.

So now there are six people in the room.

When you decided to take the life of four and spare one, the life count has gone down by four.

So it is a calculation of 5 + 1 – 4 = 6 – 4 = 2

Hence, there are two alive people remaining within the room.

And the total count of 6 still remains the same.

One is from the original group who can also be referred to as the only alive victim accompanied by the killer who happens to be none other than yourself.
