When live and dead factor is not considered, overall there are 6 people including me.

When live and dead factor is considered, after killing four, only two persons that is me and the one alive will be left in the room.

The contradicting point in this puzzle is the dead factor.

There are a total of 5 people in the room. When you enter the room, total becomes ( 5 + 1 ) 〓 6 people.

When you kill 4 out of them , number of people is ( 6 - 4 ) 〓 2 people. That means only 2 are remaining.

If you look at the question properly, it asks that how
many people are still remaining in the room.

This means that you have to count only living people, not the ones who are dead or not remaining.
