Yes i think there is a slight difference in the prices of commoditiea in the retail shops and in the big grossary shops reason being that

Those people who are able and have money to purchase large amounts or bulk purchase of items enjoy the cost of buying in bulk

Those people living below the poverty lines have no money to purchase large amounts of commodities but economically smalk scale purchase is expensive
