In earlier years, people depended on growing food and herding animals for their survival. The food they grew attracted the animals and thereafter the people started herding the animals which included the goat, sheep, cow and more. They started protecting them from wild animals and herding them.

EXPLANATION:

Before people started farming they were mainly living on hunting wild animals and eating wild plants. The process of farming helped them to easy access to food for survival and they depended on rainfall for water. They started to grow food and as a result, they settled down into communities with permanent homes and settlements.
