Answer:

12.85 cm, inverted and 1.71 cm

Explanation:

According to the given question,

f = 18 cm = focal length

m = 9 = Linear magnification

ho = 6 cm = hight of the object

u = -45 cm = object distance

And we are asked to find the position, nature and height of the image formed by convex mirror.

We know,

  • (1/v) + (1/u) = 1/f

By putting the values we get,

  • 1/v = 1/f - 1/u

  • 1/v = 1/18 + 1/45

  • v = 45× 18/63

  • v = 12.85 cm

Again,

  • m = hi/ho = - v/u

Where hi = image distance

  • hi = - v×ho/u

  • hi = - 12.85 × 6 /( -45)

  • hi = 12.85×6/45

  • hi = 1.71 cm

Therefore, position of the image is 12.85 cm and height = 1.71 cm and nature is inverted.
