Union territories are the republic divisions which are directly ruled by the government of India where governor is the administrator. Hence, they are called as Union territories. Meanwhile states are ruled themselves.
There are 7 union territories in India. They are :
New Delhi = New Delhi
Chandigarh = Chandigarh
Puducherry = Puducherry
Daman & Diu = Daman
Dadra & Nagar Haveli = Silvassa
Andaman & Nicobar islands = Port Blair
Lakshadeep = Lakshadeep
