Yes, this is by making its density lower than that of water. This you can do by making the iron assume a hollow shape. The shape would cause the iron to displace water equal to its weight and float.

Yes, we can make iron to float on water.

Procedure:

1.Take a piece of iron and drop it in a vessel of water.

2. We observe that the iron piece sinks in water.

3. Take a thin foil of iron and fold it into four folds.

4. Drop it in water, it sinks.

5. Now unfold the fold and bend it in the form of a bowl.

6. Now drop the bowl in water.

7. It floats on water.

Reason : The weight of water displaced by iron bowl is less than the weight of the iron bowl.
