NO IRON CANT FLOW ON WATER BECAUSE OF ITS WEIGHT AND EARTHS GRAVITY and its density is less than water it will definitely sink

rithika6: question is different..... iron ships also float on water which is possible
ana205: well,u are right... but a small amount of Iron can float on a Large amount of water... for example Iron ships.... the float on ocean water and this ocean water is a large amount of water
rithika6: ur mistaken.... wen can make iron float on water by making it into a thin metal sheet..... which increases the surfacearea.. and thereby increasing the upthrust that is buoyant force.... which makes iron floats on water
ana205: hmm.... thanks for ur reply..... ^_^ it really enhanced my knowledge

x Well, iron doesn't float on water because the density of water is less than the weight of iron....it sinks

✓ But iron floats on Mercury because of the buoyant force

Hope this helps..
Thanks!

ana205: Oh, I am so sorry.... so let me give u the required answer : a small amount of Iron can float on a Large amount of water... for example Iron ships.... the float on ocean water and this ocean water is a large amount of water . .. ..
ana205: and I am not so sure what exactly should the weight of the Iron to float... ^^"
