we have three methods of finding mean

  • direct method
  • assumed mean
  • step deviation

mean

direct method= sum of all observation/ total number of observation

x= £fixi/£xi

assumed mean= A+ £fidi/£xi

here a is assumed mean

the formula to find di = Xi- A

that is the frequency of the class subtract from assumed mean

step deviation = A+(£fiui/£xi) × d

here ui = Xi - A/D

here d is common difference

these formula helps you to solve them
