Area of full rectangular lawn = lb
= 50×36
= 1800m² ____(i)

length of the large field = 50+2+2 = 54m
breadth of the large field = 36+2+2 = 40m
area = 54×40
= 2160m² _____(ii)

Area of the path = (ii) - (i)
= 2160-1800
= 360m²

Rate = ₹16/m²
Cost = ₹16 × 360
= ₹5760

Answer:

Area of the path = 360 m².

Cost of leveling the path = 5760.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let ABCD be the Lawn.

Length of the rectangular path = 50 m.

Breadth of the rectangular path = 36 m.

Area of ABCD = Length * Breadth

                       = 50 * 36

                       = 1800 m².

Given that the area is surrounded by 2 m path.

Length of rectangle PQRS = (50 + 2 + 2)

                                            = 54 m.

Breadth of rectangle PQRS = (36 + 2 + 2)

                                              = 40 m.

Area of rectangle PQRS = (54 * 40)

                                       = 2160 m²

Now,

Area of the path = Area of rectangle PQRS - Area of rectangle ABCD

                           = 2160 - 1800

                           = 360.

Therefore, Area of the path = 360 m².

Now,

For 1 m², cost of leveling the path = 16.

For 360 m²,  Cost of leveling the path = 360 * 16 = 5760.

Therefore, Cost of leveling the path = 5760.

Hope it helps!
