The property of material or substance which reflects the resist to conduct eletricity is known as resistivity or resistance of the material. It is the opposite of conductivity or conductance.
OR
The opposition offered by the conductor in the path of the current is called resistance.
The SI unit of resistance is Ohm.
1 Ohm = 1 volt/1 ampere
= volt/ampere
A conductor has a resistance of 1 Ohm, If a current of 1 ampere flows through it when a potential difference of 1 volt is applied across its ends.
