Yes we can.
The wavelength is light which a pigment reflects back is what we see. For example, plants show green color because they contain chlorophyll which reflects green color.
Similarly, many photosynthetic organisms show different colors because of the different pigments they have which contains different compounds which reflects light of different colors.
