Answer:

Captivity which means being imprisoned or confined. Here, Imprisoning may be of animals in the zoo, children's arrested in the house during rainfall, children's forced to study rather than playing games/sports, criminals in the jails etc. Animals in the zoo can't enjoy their natural habits, can't explore the nature, can't find their food of their own choice. They are restricted to a small place. Children's during rainfall can't play their sports, can't visit their favorite places like parks. They remain confined to their home. Students during exam are forced to focus on study only. They are not allowed to visit the shops and entertainment place with friends. They can't play games, they are not allowed to watch movies. Similarly, criminals are forced to reside only within the jail walls. They are forced to eat the things which they get from the officers. They can't do what they want to do. Any form of imprisonment leads to loss of freedom and rights which is more than a punishment. So, captivity is a punishment in each and every form.
