Given:-

Distance covered of Car A = 80m

Time taken by car A= 5 seconds

Distance covered of Car B= 1km = 1000m

Time taken by car B= 50 seconds

To find :-

◆ Compare the speed of both car

It means which car moves is fast

  • Now according to the formula

\boxed{\bigstar{\sf\ \ Speed (v)= \dfrac{Distance (s)}{Time (t)}}}

  • Here we denote
  • speed = v
  • distance = s
  • time = t

Find the speed of car A

\longrightarrow\sf v= \dfrac{s}{t}\\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf  v=  \cancel{\dfrac{80}{5}}\\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf v= 16m/s

\bigstar{\underline{\textsf{Speed \ of \ car \ A= {\textbf{16m/s}}}}}

Now speed of car B

\longrightarrow\sf v= \dfrac{s}{t}\\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf  v=  \cancel{\dfrac{1000}{50}}\\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf v= 20m/s

\bigstar{\underline{\textsf{Speed \ of \ car \ B= {\textbf{20m/s}}}}}

◆ If we compare the speed of both car we find that the speed of Car B is more than the speed of Car A

Car B travels with more speed than car B.

Solution

For car A :

It travels distance of 80 m

Time taken = 5 s

We know that,

◕ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 80 = Speed × 5

⇒ Speed = 80/5

Speed = 16 m/s

Speed of car A = 16 m/s.

For car B:

It travels distance of 1 km = 1000 m

Time taken = 50 s

We will use same formula i.e.

◕ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 1000 = Speed × 50

⇒ Speed = 1000/50

Speed = 20 m/s

Speed of car B = 20 m/s

Here,

∵ Speed of car B > Speed of car A

Car B travels faster than car A.
