Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : different mode of transport  used by the people

To Find : probability of number of people:

(a) Used car and scooter only

(b) Used cycle only

(c) Used at least one kind of mode of transport.

(d) Used train only

(e)not using any mode of transport

Solution:

Mode of transport     Number of people

car                                  80

scooter                           120

Bus                                  100

Train                                70

cycle                                110

No  transport                    20

TOTAL                           500

(a) Used car and scooter only

80 + 120 = 200

Probability  =  200/500  = 2/5 =  0.4

(b) Used cycle only

Probability  =  110/500  =11/50 = 0.22

(c) Used at least one kind of mode of transport.

= Total -  No transport required

= 500 - 20

= 480

Probability = 480/500 = 24/25 = 0.96

(d) Used used train only

Train = 70 =

Probability =  70/500 = 7/50 = 0.14

(e) not using any mode of transport

Probability = 20/500  = 1/25 = 0.04
