Given:-

  • Initial velocity ,u = 0m/s

  • Time taken , t = 10s

  • Final velocity ,v = 9km/h

  • mass of the car ,m = 2000kg

To Find:-

  • Retardation Force (F).

Solution:-

Converting the unit here

Final velocity =9km/h = 9×5/18 = 45/18

Firstly we calculate the acceleration of the car

As we know that rate of change of velocity at per unit time is called acceleration.

a = v-u/t

Substitute the value we get

→ a = 45/18 - 0 /10

→ a = 45/28/10

→ a = 45×10/28

→ a = 450/28

→ a = 16.07 m/s²

∴ The acceleration of the car is 16.07 m/s²

Now we know that Force is the product of mass and acceleration

F = a

Substitute the value we get

→ F = 2000 × 16.07

→ F = 32140N

The retardation force acting on the car is 32140 Newton.
