The oxides can be easily reduced and we can get the metal.

For example :

Zinc glance is an ore of zinc (ZnS) .

It enriched by froth flotaion and is reduced to zinc oxide .

According to the equation

2ZnS +3O2 ----------> 2ZnO+2SO2

The zinc oxide thus obtained can be easily reduced to Zinc by heating it with carbon in the furnace.

ZnO+C---------->Zn+CO.
