To Find : probability that the cards are marked with

(i)a prime number

(ii)an even number

(iii)a number multiple of 5

(iv)a number divisible by 6  

(v)a number 4.

Solution:

Cards are marked with numbers 1 to 25

=> n(S) =25

Prime Number - 2 , 3 , 5 , 7 , 11 , 13 , 17 , 19 , 23

= 9

Probability prime number = 9/25    =0.36

an even number

2 , 4 , 6 ...................................., 22 , 24

= 12

Probability  even number = 12/25  = 0.48

a number multiple of 5

5 , 10 , 15 , 20 , 25

Probability a number multiple of 5 = 5/25  = 0.2

Divisible by 6  

6 , 12 , 18 , 24

Probability  

Divisible by 6    = 4/25  = 0.16

Probability   number 4 = 1/25 = 0.04
