Answer:

9/100

Step-by-step explanation:

2 to 101 means 100 cards because number of cards = n2 - n1 + 1

2^2 = 4

3^2 = 9

4^2 = 16

....

10^2  = 100

perfect squares of : 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10

total no of possible outcomes : 100

no of favourable outcomes: 9

p(perfect square) = 9/100

❍ Given :-

  • Card numbers from 2 to 101

❍ To Find :-

  • Probability of perfect square number

❍ Solution :-

➸ Total number of cards = 101 - 1 = 100 Cards

➸ Favorable outcomes :-

4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100

➸ Total number of favorable outcomes = 9

We know that,

\sf \small \fbox{Probability =  \dfrac{Number \: of \: favorable \: outcomes}{Total \: number \: of \: outcomes}}

\sf →Probability =  \orange{\dfrac{9}{100}}

∴ The probability that the number on card is perfect square drawn at random from the box is \dfrac{9}{100} .
