The far north-west of the country along the border with Pakistan, Punjab had become India's most important agricultural region. As we know that Punjab is known as the food basket of India .But it seems to be called as a disease basket now .Excess usage of fertilizers and pesticides to increase crop yields, however is also responsible for various diseases .The polluted soil  makes the food and water unsuitable for human consumption . This  affected the people living in Punjab .The local natives have experienced numerous health issues. Children's were born with health and mental disabilities.Now cancer has also become prevalent in Punjab because of drinking polluted water . Now all they need is healthy food and unpolluted water.
