The pollution has led to an increase in disease levels in the the state of Punjab; including cancer and neurological defects.Has the circulation of these chemicals increase in the environment, the levels of disease contraction also increase and this is why Punjab has become a disease basket.

Punjab is famous for it's excessive agricultural production .Earlier it was known as food basket but nowadays it is referred as disease basket .It is all because of excessive use of fertilezers which makes the crop harmful and unfit for eating .Due to this nowadays people are suffering from various disease like cancer, food poisoning etc.
