CASE STUDY:-
The torque due to a force gives us the turning effect of the force about a fixed point/axis. It is measured by the product of magnitude of force (F) and perpendicular distance(r) of the line of action of force from the axis of rotation.
=r×F=rFsin∅n
A) What is the significance of torque?
B) How do you determine the direction of torque?
C) What is the Implication of this concept in day to day life?
d) Why do you prefer to use e wrench with a long arm?

A)Torque is a crucial part of generating power from a car's engine, as it represents the load an engine can handle to generate a certain amount of power to rotate the engine on its axis. The force is measured in pounds (lb) per foot (ft) of rotation around one point.

D)Torque or turning effect due to a force is maximum when r is maximum. We prefer to use a wrench with long arm because when the length of the arm(r) is long, the force (F) required to produce a given turning effect ( x ) is smaller. Hence, a nut can be unscrewed easily.
