Given "cash sales of 100085"
This transaction affects two accounts sales a/c , hema a/c ... Where sales a/c is a nominal account (all expenses incomes gains losses come under nominal account) and cash a/c is a real account(all assets and Liabilities come under Real account)
The Three golden rules of accounting are
Personal account - Debit the receiver, credit the giver
Real account - Debit What comes in, credit what goes out
Nominal account - Debit All expenses and losses, credit all incomes and Gains
So Per the above rules..since cash is incoming should be debited and sales is an income should be credited..
So the Journal Entry will be
Cash a/c Dr 100085
To sales a/c. 100085
(Being Goods sold)
