Explanation:

Olden days, India was a caste based country. Various people doing variety of works used to hold different castes . There used to be a lot of caste discrimination . As people got too civilized ,the caste basis are lesser. 

There is no prominent role of caste in India currently. 

1) Equal opportunities are given to all citizens regardless of their caste. 

2) No one should criticize any others based on caste 

3) No one can commit crime saying it as a caste culture.

Some examples :-

1) People of some castes weren't allowed to enter villages, temples .they were also not allowed to be educated. This untouchability is currently abolished.

2) Based on caste, people were allowed to do only a work rather than their wish.

Caste used to be a border between humans . As man started modern he broke the walls of caste. There is no much role of caste in our Indian society.

Caste plays an important role in politics specially when it comes to India.
