Hey there!
Cells can be categorised into two types on the basis of presence or absence of nuclear membrane:-
1 Prokaryotic cell: pro(primitive)+ karyon(nucleus) which means the nucleus is not so well developed and lacks nuclear membrane and hence it is called nucleoid.
2 Eukaryotic cell: Eu(true) +karyon(nucleus) which means well developed nucleus which is surrounded by a nuclear membrane.
